"The wildlife was the main thing to see," Landwehr said, "but the islands are formed like the Hawaiian Islands. There is a soft spot in the earth there were magma is pushed to the surface forming land as the tectonic plates move underneath. Some islands we saw have been there for thousands of years, others were in the process of being formed."
