Skiers swept away by avalanche Feb 28, 2010
They were taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William where they were treated for leg injuries ... "Because it was a massive and very dangerous avalanche, I called in the Royal Navy rescue helicopter from Prestwick and they located the pair and airlifted them off the mountain to safety. Rail services between Aberdeen and Inverness, Perth and Inverness and Glasgow and Fort William were affected and hundreds of drivers were left stranded on a 25-mile section of the A9 in Perthshire, some for more than 17 hours.
