News and Articles on Baba Au Rhum

    Masterful Blends  Sep 21, 2008
The three desserts offered on my final visit could have been served any time of year: a dry baba au rhum ($9) desperately in need of the accompanying rum and chantilly cream; three small dense doughnut holes set on seedy raspberry jam (overpriced at $9); and chocolate hazelnut ice cream ($8) that would be better a couple of months down the line, when hazelnuts are in season. Clearly, the chefs are still adapting to the area; it's a long way from the East Village to Gravenstein Highway. (San Francisco Chronicle -- Entertainment)
