    Two-hundred years later, a Sunni caliph, Abu Ishaq al-Mutasim ibn Harun, worried about a possible Shi'ite insurrection, brought two direct Shi'ite descendants of the prophet, Ali al-Hadi and his son, Hassan al-Askari, to Samarra.
