    Southern tick associated rash illness (STARI) is similar to Lyme disease in that it causes a similar-looking rash, but the symptoms are usually milder. According to Kelly Loftin (Extension Entomologist) it is transmitted by an entirely different tick species, the (Lonestar tick). (Truman Democrat, AR)
