    Holcombe classes offer new hobbies, practical skills  Oct 25, 2008
    As a new requirement, all Wisconsin Recreational Safety Students are required to obtain a Wisconsin DNR customer ID number before the completion of any Recreational Safety Class and will also be required to provide that WI DNR Customer ID Number along with students personal information to the instructor.     Hunter education may save lives  Feb 8, 2008
    Signs point to a 1983 Iowa law that requires younger hunters to take hunter-education courses as a reason for the low number of fatalities in recent years, said Rod Slings, the supervisor of recreational safety programs at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The law requires everyone born after 1972 to take a hunter-education course before getting a hunting license. (Daily Iowan, IA)

    HUNTING ACCIDENT  Dec 14, 2007
    According to Dale Anderson, recreational safety officer investigating the incident, the hunter was shooting over the crest of a hill at a wounded deer on the west side of County Road N46 and was unaware of Lawshe and his hunting party parked on the other side of the road below the hill. Lawshe was reaching into his vehicle when the slug passed through the passenger window, grazing him in the chest. (The Guthrian, IA)
