    Diabetes UK said recent research had shown pre-diabetes could cause long-term damage to the body, especially the heart and circulation, even before full-blown diabetes develops.     Dairy foods for kids 'extend life'  Jul 28, 2009
    Dairy consumption may also influence heart and circulation health through a hormone called insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), say the study authors from the UK's University of Bristol and Australia's Queensland Institute of Medical Research. In adults, high circulating levels of IGF-1 are linked with reduced cases of heart failure and heart disease deaths. (BBC News)

    June Davison, a cardiac nurse at the British Heart Foundation, said: "Previous research suggests that a good night's sleep may help to keep our heart and circulation healthy, and this study could point to an underlying reason behind that finding.
