Downtown theater coming to Winston-Salem Aug 7, 2009
The new space, to be called aperture cinema, will include two 80-seat theaters and will be located in the Chatham Building at 311 W. Fourth St. It will share 8,000 square feet of space on the first floor and mezzanine level with the new year-round headquarters of the RiverRun International Film Festival. He recently made it onto the big screen, providing the flights for aerial shots for the movie Eyeborgs, which played at RiverRun International Film Festival in Winston-Salem this spring. RiverRun box office up nearly 20 percent May 1, 2009
The RiverRun International Film Festival brought in total box office receipts of $85,720 this year, nearly a 20 percent increase from last year s record take of $71,781. Even though ticket sales are only a fraction of our overall budget, they are still one of the important metrics we use to help measure the success of the annual festival, said Andrew Rodgers, executive director of the Winston-Salem event.
