The memorial concert will feature mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade, the May Festival Chorus and students from Cincinnati s School for Creative and Performing Arts. It will be conducted by Steven Reineke, Cincinnati Pops associate conductor, and music director for the New York Pops; Keith Lockhart, Boston Pops conductor; Vince Lee, assistant conductor; Paavo Jarvi, Cincinnati Symphony music director; and Robert Porco, May Festival director of choruses. James Bagwell appointed music director of Collegiate Chorale, succeeding Robert Bass Sep 14, 2009
Bagwell has been music director of the May Festival Youth Choir in Cincinnati for 11 seasons and has been the Bard Music Festival's director of choruses since 2003. He is principal guest conductor of the American Symphony Orchestra and has worked with choruses performing with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Mostly Mozart Festival.
