"The Department has already decided not to continue the domestic GNEP program of the last administration," said DOE deputy press secretary Jen Stutsman in a statement Wednesday to Nuclear Engineering International magazine. "The long-term fuel cycle research and development program will continue, but not the near-term deployment of recycling facilities or fast reactors.". (The Augusta Chronicle)

"Since taking office two years ago, it has been one of my priorities to resolve all matters related to the Big Dig ceiling collapse in a manner that was fair and just for the Commonwealth, and for the loved ones of Milena Del Valle who so tragically lost her life almost three years ago. AG settles with final two firms in fatal collapse of Big Dig tunnel Mar 27, 2009
The attorney general's office dismissed claims against Sigma Engineering International Inc. and Conam Inc., saying the companies were not liable in the ceiling collapse. Emily LaGrassa, a spokeswoman for the attorney general's office, said the final two settlements marked the end of a litigation campaign against Big Dig companies by Coakley's office, working with the US attorney's office and other government and law enforcement agencies.
