    First of all, realize that there are other Nobel Prizes in Chemistry, Physics, Medicen, etc, that are handed to innovative engineers and scientists. In the past, the Peace Prize was mainly handed to individuals or parties that have made their contribution to stop civil war in countries, or bring about recognition of current war zone situations.
