A Hyde Park man told police he saw Broomstein use his red and black bolt cutters to steal two bikes a black Gary Fisher Manitou 21-speed bicycle worth $250 and a black and gray Magna Excitor 21-speed bicycle worth $100 from the pole on Cambridge Street in Charlestown. An ice cream machine was reported taken from Chestnut Hill Citgo, 845 Boylston St., on July 31, at 2:46 p.m. On July 29, at 4:46 p.m., a Centre Street resident reported that someone had stolen parts from his Gary Fisher mountain bike sometime in the last 24 hours. A black Audi A4 was reported stolen from a meter on Babcock Street on July 29, at 2:42 p.m. The car had reportedly been parked there at 10:30 a.m., and was not in the tow system. (Brookline TAB, MA)
