" A preliminary autopsy on the body found it was of a woman. She had been dead for at least a few weeks, Northern Beaches duty officer Graeme Pickering said. "It has been there for some time, for a number of weeks," Inspector Pickering told reporters near the scene today. Inspector Pickering said he wanted to correct reports that she had been decapitated.
