    Theatre restoration project gets $1.3M gift  Aug 26, 2008
    Roberta Johnson, a graduate of Vassar College, was reported to be a quiet, unassuming lady whose main interests in Brenham were the Presbyterian Church, managing her financial interests and playing bridge, which she did until the last few weeks of her life. Executor Charles Blake said the will provided for her family and made specific bequests to a number of organizations in Brenham and Mount Vernon, Ohio, where she and her late husband Harold spent most of their lives.     Eleanor (Ruggles) O'Leary showed signs of a literary and theatrical bent as far back as her student days at Vassar College in the 1930s, when she acted in school plays and wrote for campus publications. Some 20 years later, John Houseman, the late theatrical producer and director, who had been one of her professors, wrote a letter congratulating her on her 1953 biography, "The Prince of Players," on the life of the acclaimed actor Edwin Booth.
