McCain's apparent comfort in acknowledging that he was the fifth-worst student in his United States Naval Academy graduating class does not do a lot to instill confidence in those Americans who expect (and appropriately so) American presidents to be just a tad smarter than the rest of us. The senator's rush to select Gov. Palin as his 2008 running mate is also cause for concern, given that it appeared there was little time to effect a full vetting of her. (NJ.com -- Times)
