Johansen, a former president and chief executive officer of PacifiCorp, as its 13th president Wednesday, turning to a well-connected business executive and lawyer to lead the 115-year-old liberal arts institution. After retiring, he moved to Portland, settling in the Sellwood neighborhood where he was very active in Portland Loaves and Fishes/Meals on Wheels, the Sellwood Moreland Improvement League (SMILE), and an avid pianist, taking four-hand piano classes at Marylhurst University where he formed close friendships.
