    Dreadful state revenue predictions are forcing Mississippi legislators to look seriously at merging Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn State into Jackson State University and merging Mississippi University for Women into Mississippi State University. These proposals -- Senate Bill 2701, SB 2710, and SB 2794 -- are good ideas and certainly a step in the right direction. (Seantobia Democrat, MS)
