    Record freshmen class begins at Blue Mountain  Aug 26, 2008
    (AP) - Blue Mountain College is small, but it is welcoming its largest freshman class in memory - 75 students. President Bettye Rogers Coward says the small liberal arts college in northeast Mississippi has seen enrollment jump 27% from a year ago. (WREG.com, TN)

    Blue Mountain gets full-time XC coach  Aug 6, 2008
    Fred Smith, who in the spring coached the Ripley High boys track team to a Class 3A state championship, has joined Blue Mountain College as its full-time cross country coach. Smith started the BMC cross country program in 2007, coaching walk-on runners on a part-time basis in limited competition, while still teaching algebra and coaching at Ripley.
