The original budget had included $10 million for the new University of South Florida Lakeland campus being built and $500,000 for a nursing program at Florida Southern College. The Polk delegation, appearing at a breakfast hosted by the city's Chamber of Commerce, said both were in danger because TaxWatch, a Tallahassee-based watchdog group, had included them on its annual "turkey" list of programs that did no go through the appopriate legislative process.
