    Animator Yvonne Andersen, known for leading film workshops in the 1960s and teaching animation at the Rhode Island School of Design, will show a few of her short animated films. Joining her will be Amy Kravitz, who began studying with Andersen when she was 11 and now has her mentor's old job at RISD. Works include Kravitz's abstract animation "Roost." 7 p.m. Free.     High-tech tinkerers on the rise  Feb 11, 2008
    Paul Badger, an instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design who runs Modern Device Co. out of his house, creates cheap microcontroller boards, called "Bare Bones Boards," that take off from a popular microcontroller called Arduino. Badger's art students work on things like a wig that can flip up and down and back and forth, or experiment with lighting; the Arduino microcontroller is often used in other artistic products, such as clothing melded with computing, or basic robotics for artists.     When Wendland told her parents she wanted to go to art school, she heard, "Honey, people aren't artists any more."
