Millsaps College has scheduled a program for Friday to educate rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors and their parents about the stages of the college search and selection process. From the mailbag: The Mississippi Puppetry Guild presents its performance of Peter and the Wolf at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday and Dec. 12 and 14 at the Christian Center Auditorium at Millsaps College. Tickets are $6 with special prices for groups. (The Clarion-Ledger)

In his youth, he graduated a with a Bachelor of Arts from Millsaps College and a Master of Divinity from Emory University before serving as an associate pastor at First United Methodist Church of Gulfport. The William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation will hold a concert at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 30 in the Academic Complex Recital Hall at Millsaps College. The program, called The Welcome Table: A Seasonal Concert, celebrates the holiday season, featuring music from Hebrew, Indian, Islamic, Kwanzaa and Christian traditions. (The Clarion-Ledger)
