All-new Jeep Partriot made affordable  Feb 13, 2007
Some off-road purists who swear by their Jeep CJ and Wrangler models have complained that Chrysler Group is weakening its Jeep brand by introducing models that aren't what they would call real Jeeps. My response is that anything that helps keep the Jeep brand financially healthy - such as volume sales of lots of different Jeep-branded vehicles - is a good thing. (AZCentral -- Business)

Why 'people fall in love with' old Toyota Land Cruisers  Feb 14, 2005
Among Land Cruiser enthusiasts, the prevailing opinion is that although early FJs were as Spartan as the civilian Jeep CJ (and even mimicked its basic shape), they were better than the American vehicle in some ways. And the Toyota's longer wheelbase improved its ride. (International Herald Tribune -- Business)

    G. Chambers Williams III: When Jeeps are not Jeeps  Nov 15, 2003
Question: When is a Jeep not really a Jeep. Really off-road, as on the Rubicon Trail, that icon of off-roading in the Sierra Nevada range in Northern California where, until now, all Jeep vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive had to be tested and succeed to bear the Jeep name (San Antonio Express, TX)

    Jeep V-8 Power!  Oct 24, 2003
Say you have a CJ with a healthy Jeep V-8 for playing in the sand dunes or doing the rocks. The Jeep's mildly modified AMC 304 had reliably served the CJ, but Dave was ready for something with a bit more performance (Off-Road Magazine)
