Book Review: Devotion Feb 28, 2007
Howard Norman's stilted new novel, "Devotion," uses many of the same ingredients that his magical 1994 book, "The Bird Artist," did: a thematic bird motif (this time it's swans), an isolated Canadian backdrop, a suddenly fractured family and a plot that involves a short-lived marriage and a series of events that leads to an unexpected act of violence.
