Rocky Hill Preserves Large Civil War-Era Flag Jun 10, 2008
The town has hired Sandra Aho, a textile and costume conservator, to research the flag's history with the help of the Historical Society, the State Library, and Henry Reed Stiles' "The History of Ancient , Connecticut.". "It's the largest Civil War flag I've ever seen. It's not a battle flag, because it's enormous. This flag was meant to be displayed, not carried in battle," said Aho. (FOX61, CT)
