    Artists offer a few of their 'Favorite Things'  Sep 13, 2008
    The exhibit, which opened Sept. 2 and will run through Dec. 14, fea tures 59 prints dating from 1964 to 2002 by Jim Dine, Red Grooms, Robert Indiana, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Eduardo Paolozzi, Mel Ramos, Robert Rauschenberg, Larry Rivers, James Rosenquist, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann.     BEFORE Andy Warhol painted his first soup can - and way before Damien Hirst found art in formaldehyde - Larry Rivers was stirring things up ... Having held a memorial service for him after his death, six years ago, the museum is finally ready not to bury but to praise him with "Larry Rivers: Major Early Works." ...     It features prints from the late 1960s and early 70s, when the bulk of the museum s acquisitions occurred, including works by important 20th-century artists such as Alexander Calder, Robert Rauschenberg and Larry Rivers. Broocks said tourists sometimes stop by during the summer wanting to see some of these well-known pieces in the collection and are disappointed to find them not on display.     Corcoran shows own Hirshhorns  Mar 11, 2007
    From the 650-plus pieces given by Mrs. Hirshhorn, Jonathan Binstock, exhibit curator and Corcoran curator of contemporary art, chose 67 works, including many by Alexander Calder, Mr. Albers, Willem de Kooning and Larry Rivers. Mr. Binstock focused on works by Mr. Albers and his wife Anni Albers he features the latter's unusual "Sunny" (1965), a "pictorial weaving" in the smallish entry gallery at the back of the ground floor.
